Yeehaw Cowboys!

We just had spring break and we took a trip to Branson, MO. It was about a four hour drive and the kids did great! We stayed at the Hilton on the Landing – a new area on the water. It was a new outdoor mall built along the waterway. There were all different kind of shops and restaurants. Since it rained most of the trip we had to find a lot of stuff to do indoors. We ate a lot! There is a lot of food in Branson.

We were able to make it to Silver Dollar City on the last day – we were thankful it didn’t rain. Paige and Shane loved Silver Dollar City. We had fried chicken and mashed potatoes for lunch – kids had pb&j (big surprise). We also visited Dino’s new bakery called 24 Karot Cake. He is a piano performer turned baker. I danced at his theatre 20 years ago. I wasn’t able to see him but we tried 5 different kinds of cake – coconut cake, chocolate fudge, tropical, strawberry, and of course, carrot cake.

One of the most fun things we did was take Western photos at this place on the landing. Here are a few of them. You can go here to see more photos.

I just had to share this photo with everyone. We were waiting to get the car washed when I asked Paige if I could take a picture of her new haircut. She insisted on doing the Chinese splits for the picture…so here it is.

Star of the Week

Shane was star of the week last month and we created a poster all about him to show his classmates. Of course, I went a little crazy with my crafting and created what you see below. Obviously, his teacher and classmates really liked (and so did Shane)!

Anniversary in Cancun!

Eddie and I took a four day trip to Cancun and stayed at the El Dorado Royale resort. We booked it through Funjet to get a better deal. We requested a 5 start resort but we didn’t know where we would stay until 3 days before the trip. Thankfully, it was really nice and adult only!! The food was amazing, the service was amazing, and the resort was gorgeous! Here is a picture of us in front of a natural waterfall that we saw while on a 90 min bike tour.

We didn’t have too much of a celebration last night but we did go out to eat. We have made going Oishi Japanese Steakhouse a New Years Eve tradition. Six of us went – me, Eddie, Shane, Paige, Irene, and Jeanette. The owner knows us now (he speaks Thai with Irene) and he gave us a free order of crab rangoons – which were the bomb. We also ordered sushi and saki and Eddie and I split filet, shrimp, scallops, and lobster. He managed to eat his portion – I took half of mine home and ate it today for lunch. Yummy!

We went home, hung with the kids, and then watched ‘Body of Lies’ in which I fell asleep. I actually got into bed at 9:45pm last night…world record for me!

Christmas Day!

So my New Years solution is to stay on top of my blog. I want to write at least twice a week to keep everyone up on what’s going on with the Piromsuk Family. It all comes down to getting into a routine.

Christmas day at our home was great as always. The kids were blessed with many presents and lots of candy and we had plenty of time to be lazy in our pajamas all day long.

Snacking consisted of my famous deviled eggs, Jeanette’s buffalo chicken dip and chips, and leftover ham on King’s Hawaiian rolls. Yummy!! Here are a few photos I shot this morning.

Girls Trip to Springfield, MO

This past weekend, Paige and I took a road trip down to Springfield, MO. Every year I go down to see my friend, Kelly, and her family. I usually bring Paige because she loves to play with Kelly’s son, Bennett. We drove down on Friday morning and met Kelly for lunch at Cheddar’s. I introduced Paige to the Cookie Monster dessert that is absolutely awesome. Of course, she loved it!!

Kelly agreed to throw a Thirty One party for me so we did it Friday night. Kelly’s dad and hubbie took all the kids out to McDonald’s while we had our party. It was fun and I got to connect with someone I went to high school with. When the kids got home – they crashed. I didn’t even have to time to give her a bath.

Bennett had a basketball game on Saturday so we went to the downtown YMCA to watch him play. I ran into a few more people that I went to high school with – crazy! Every time out that Bennett had Paige would run over and give him a hug and pat on the back. It was very adorable! We did Fudruckers for lunch and went home for a nap.

We decided to go to Nakato Japanese Steakhouse Saturday night but we stopped by Kelly’s friends’ party. It was an annual pumpkin bowling party. They had a stack of pumpkins all different sizes and everyone got a turn to roll a pumpkin down the steep hill and try to get it up the ramp and hit a target. They also had sling shots to launch pumpkins high in the air. It was super crazy but Paige had a blast. She just rolled the baby pumpkins but she did have a nice straight roll. Here are few pics of the party.

Nakato’s was great as usual and super busy as usual. I ordered shrimp and shared my sides with Paige. Of course, she wouldn’t try anything except the noodles. Her typical Asian diet consists of edamame and rice. She wouldn’t even touch the yummy hibachi veggies. Crazy girl!

Sunday morning came quickly. We decided to go to Ziggy’s since I hadn’t been there in a long time.

I use to eat there back in the good ole days. Sometimes for normal breakfast with the fam – sometimes for snack after the bars. Anyway, it has been remodeled but the food is still amazing. Some things never change!

Trick or Treat…Smell my Feet!

Paige’s favorite song right now is Trick or Treat – smell my feet – give me something good to eat. You know how that goes, right? Well, she told me that she learned it from the girls at school at recess time. I wonder how many other crazy stories and songs she is hearing on a daily basis!!

Below is a video of their Halloween parade.

The entire school marched around the neighborhood in their costumes while the parents sat outside in their lawn chairs and watched. Then it was Halloween party time. I was the head room mom for Shane’s class and in charge of the entire second grade Halloween preparations. All I can say is “WHAT A JOB”! The most time consuming part was making the pumpkin man craft for all 51 kids on the second grade. Each pumpkin head and faces were unique for each kid. Below is an example of what I created!!

Now that it is over – nothing more for me until the Valentine’s party for Paige’s class…I am just doing the craft.

Trick or treating was super fun. Paige and Shane really enjoyed it this year. Shane told his joke at every single house and Paige had one too though it didn’t make too much sense. Shane’s joke was ‘What kind of witch lives at the beach?’. The answer is ‘sandwich’. Paige’s joke was just crazy…it was a knock knock joke. Knock knock – who’s there – cat – cat who – cat ever seen a ghost? Not sure where she picked up that one but she loved telling it!

I caught this super funny picture when Paige was upset about something – it is just too funny!

Yes, Paige is in Girl Scouts – can you believe it? I am so amazed how fast she is growing up. I just had to be at her first meeting – I don’t want to miss anything. They played Simon says and Duck Duck Goose and then said the Girl Scout pledge.

Then we went to teacher’s lounge (at Highcroft) and they had a snack (chocolate teddy grams and fruit rolls which was a first for Paige) and then their was crafts. They made a name tag for their uniform and a puppet to use in a story about Girl Scouts. It was great! Shane just played his video games and was content.

This is Paige in her uniform. We received her first patches at the meeting and I need to iron them on before the next meeting. She will wear her little apron uniform to school next month (the day of the meeting). Isn’t she cute?? Click
